FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – LOS ANGELES
Loyola Marymount University continues to be in high demand among prospective freshmen, attracting more than 13,000 applications and exceeding last year’s record total.
The level of interest was highlighted by this year’s 13% increase in the Early Action applicant pool. Admitted students in this group had strong academic profiles, including an average SAT score of 1300 – the highest in university history.
Additionally, this year saw an impressive spike in applications from both transfer students and applicants in the Midwest and Northeast. Applications were received from all 50 states, plus D.C., and more than 100 countries worldwide.
“I am delighted that LMU continues to attract a diverse and talented pool of freshman and transfer applicants, both nationally and around the globe,” said Dr. Maureen Weatherall, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management. “This year’s talented and engaged applicants perfectly illustrate LMU’s commitment to academic excellence. Our applicants also demonstrate leadership experience and a significant commitment to service to others.”
Ranked No. 3 among regional universities in the West (U.S. News & World Report, 2015), LMU’s profile has been on the rise in recent years, touting world-renowned academic programs and a lauded faculty.
